Technical
  1. System Requirements
    1. What are the minimum system requirements?

A: A broadband internet connection (DSL/cable or higher) of 800 kbps or higher is needed for NFL Game Rewind. If you have an internet connection speed of 3.0 Mbps or higher and your computer meets the requirements below, you will be able to enjoy NFL Game Rewind at its highest video quality.
    2. What are the minimum requirements for Windows computers?

A: The minimum requirements for Windows computers are:

      • Pentium 4 2.4GHz or higher or equivalent AMD processor with a minimum of 1GB of memory
      • One of the following operating systems: Windows 7, Windows XP SP2 or greater and Windows Vista
      • 32-bit Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later: http://www.microsoft.com/ie
      • 64-bit Microsoft Internet Explorer 8
      • Firefox 3.6 or later: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox
      • Chrome 12 or later
      • Adobe Flash Player 11.0 or later: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/
      • Video adapter and monitor: 1280x800 resolution or higher, hardware acceleration-capable graphics card
    3. What are the minimum requirements for Mac computers?

A: The minimum requirements for Mac computers are:

  2. Trouble Shooting
    1. After I sign in and click on a game, I only get a spinning circle (or empty black screen or white screen). What should I do?

A: This may be related to a web browser media player plugin issue, follow these steps to resolve:

      • First step, uninstall Adobe Flash Plugin.
      • On a PC, do this through your CONTROL PANEL > ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.
      • On a Mac, drag Adobe Flash Player from applications to your Trash; or use Finder to locate Adobe Flash Player install manager, and uninstall.
      • Once you have removed Adobe Flash, ***restart your computer***
      • Finally, download/install Flash directly from Adobe's website: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    2. Why are my videos taking so long to start or very choppy?

A: This is most likely due to low internet bandwidth. It is required that you have either a Cable or DSL modem providing at least 750 kbps download speed. Make sure you are not downloading music, movies, or games at the same time as this consumes your bandwidth. Note that if you are on a shared network, other people may be consuming your bandwidth. For example if your children are using the web at the same time you are. Contact your internet provider if you suspect you are getting less internet bandwidth than you should.

Note: To increase performance in the main video window, you can close the smaller video windows since they also can consume some bandwidth and CPU resources. Machines with slower CPU's running on slower networks can benefit by only playing the video in the main window.
    3. How do I receive help during games?

A: For help during games, please contact customer support using the "Live Support" chat feature on the website http://nfl.com/subscriptionsupport or email us at gamerewind.support@nfl.com. E-mails will be answered promptly within 24 hours.
    4. Why is my video not playing?

A: Make sure you have pressed the play button for your video and wait a minute or two. If you still cannot play the video then your issue may be due to the following:

      • Low Memory - if your computer has less than the minimum 512 MB of memory or you are running many applications at the same time, close other applications before playing a video.
      • Low Bandwidth - it is required that you have either a Cable or DSL modem providing at least 750 kbps download speed. Contact your internet provider if you suspect you are getting less than this speed.
    5. My internet connection is much faster than the recommended minimum speeds. Why is my video still choppy or low quality?

A: NFL Game Rewind features adaptive playback which dynamically adjusts the quality of the video stream you receive based on the speed of your connection. If your connection speed fluctuates (many factors can contribute to this such as network congestion during peak times and other devices sharing your connection) NFL Game Rewind detects this and lowers the quality of the video stream to ensure you can continue viewing the content without interruption. You can override this feature and choose which bit rate NFL Game Rewind delivers despite fluctuations with your connection through the following steps:

      • Launch NFL Game Rewind
      • Hover over the "Quality" setting indicator and uncheck "Best Available"
      • Manually select a bit rate appropriate for your connection

NFL Game Rewind will now stream at the bit rate you chose. If your connection can't handle the bit rate you selected, you may experience choppiness in the video playback.

If your video playback is choppy with "Best Available" checked in the video quality settings, this may be an issue with your computer's performance. Please try the following:

      • Make sure your computer is up to date with the latest patches and updates and your video card's drivers are current
      • Disable hardware acceleration as it can cause choppy video playback
      • Increase virtual memory as it can improve video playback
      • Check your anti-virus or firewall settings to make sure they allow traffic from NFL Game Rewind

If you're unsure of how to do any of these things, please consult a qualified computer technician.

Hovering your mouse over a Big Play Marker in the video progress bar displays information about the play and players involved. Clicking on Big Play Markers instantly moves the playhead to the moment of the game when the play occurred for viewing.

For select Big Play Markers, there will be an option to view Coaches Film. Click on "COACHES FILM" to watch two different angles of the Big Play. When you're finished viewing, Coaches Film, click "RETURN" in the upper-right corner of the player to return to the game at the point where you were previously watching.

Big Play Markers will be present in the video player progress bar provided you have turned on scores.

To turn scores on or off, click the "SCORES" toggle switch in the upper-right corner of the player.

After selecting a game, you will have the option to watch Condensed Games.

Hover your mouse over the video player. Click "CONDENSED" to watch every play of the current game including select replays without the huddles, timeouts, sideline interviews, etc., in approximately 30 minutes.

You will not be able to access Big Play Markers while watching Condensed Games. To watch the full game broadcast as televised, click "FULL".
    7. You can access the video quality settings by hovering your mouse over "QUALITY".

By default, the video quality is set to "Best Available" and will play streaming video at the best quality optimized for your internet connection speed. If your internet connection speed slows due to network congestion or other factors, NFL Game Rewind will stream the video at a lower bitrate to minimize any video choppiness.

You can manually select a bitrate by unchecking "Best Available" and dragging the slider to the desired bitrate which will cause NFL Game Rewind to only stream the video at that bitrate. You may experience some choppiness in the video playback if you select a bitrate that is too high for your internet connection speed.
    8. When hovering your mouse over the streaming video, three icons will be displayed above the video progress bar: "GAMES", "CHAT", "STATS", and "PLAYS".

Clicking the "GAMES" icon will open and close the Guide.

Clicking the "CHAT" icon will open a general "Lobby" chat room with currently logged-in NFL Game Rewind subscribers.

You can also choose specific game chats for each game by using the drop-down menu.

To close the chat room, click the "X" in the upper-right corner.

Clicking the "STATS" icon will display various stats such as First Downs, Total Yards, Passing Yards, etc., for the currently streaming game.

You may view the stats of each team by clicking on the name of the team, or as a comparison of both teams by clicking on "Game".

Clicking the "PLAYS" icon will display a brief description of every play from the game. Clicking the film icon to the right of the play will show the play in the video player window. For select plays, you can view Coaches Film for that play by clicking "COACHES FILM".

    9. You can view one, two, or four streaming videos simultaneously, or watch two streaming videos with picture-in-picture. To change your viewing mode, click one of the icons in "VIEW MODES".

You can then drag other games into the available slots.

Quad mode: Drag games from the Guide into the available slots. The game with the red border is the active video and will have audio while all other games will be muted. To change the active video, click on any of the other videos.

Picture-in-picture mode: Drag a game from the Guide into the available slot. To reposition the picture-in-picture window, click and hold the mouse button down and move the window to the desired location. Clicking "SWAP" will switch the video playing in the picture-in-picture window with the main window.

You can enter full-screen mode by clicking the full-screen button.

To exit full screen mode, press the escape key.

After three seconds of mouse inactivity, the video playback controls will auto-hide. To access them again, move your mouse. You can also exit full-screen mode by clicking the full-screen button again.
